About
Portugal was one of the first Member States to integrate the MyHealth@EU infrastructure through the implementation of Electronic Prescription/Dispensation and Patient Summary. In order to establish new services, OurHealth@PT (Expansion of the cross-border services in Portugal and implementation of the ‘Laboratory results’ service) will implement the exchange of laboratory results, as well as reinforce existing services.
This action will strongly contribute to the development of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) and the use of data for healthcare delivery. Therefore, it will be possible to extend the coverage of cross-border services, making them available to a wider range of the European population.
Objetives
• Support the provision of cross-border healthcare by facilitating secure access to citizens’ information in European health systems.
• Contribute to patient safety by reducing the frequency of medical errors and providing quick access to health information, as well as increasing the accessibility of medical prescriptions, even when abroad.
• Provide healthcare professionals with life-saving information in emergency situations and reduce duplication of diagnostic procedures.
